Overview

Upon discovering that over 2/3 of travelers experience frustrations and trip-altering plans when faced with indecisions, my team designed a mobile experience aimed to fix this.

We serve millennials who prefer to, or are interested in traveling as part of a group, and provide them with an informative, yet casual and welcoming atmosphere.

WeRoam is travel planning, simplified. From itinerary building to budgeting, WeRoam helps users keep track of expenses, split costs fairly, and ensure everyone's on the same page. No more awkward "who owes what?" moments.

Design Process

01

Research

Surveyed 85 millennial travelers and conducted 10 in-depth interviews to map the emotional journey of group trip planning.

02

Synthesis

Built affinity maps and journey diagrams revealing that cost disagreements and last-minute plan changes were the top sources of group travel conflict.

03

Design

Designed an approachable, casual UI with democratic itinerary voting, transparent cost tracking, and integrated group chat.

04

Test & Iterate

Tested with 6 real travel groups over 4 weeks. Refined the cost-split algorithm and added a 'vibe check' feature based on user feedback.
