Overview
I was called up to work on Juvenate by the leadership from a previous work experience in which I'd showcased my ability as a narrative developer and gameplay loop designer.
For this project, I served as a consultant and narrative designer, providing services in world-building, calligraphy, and typography, while consulting for the development of Systems and Game UI.
Design Process
World-Building
Developed the lore, factions, and environmental storytelling framework that informs the game's visual language and player motivations.
Typography
Designed custom calligraphic type treatments for in-world signage, UI elements, and promotional materials that establish the game's distinct aesthetic.
Systems Consulting
Advised on UI information hierarchy for HUD, inventory, and progression systems — ensuring clarity without breaking narrative immersion.
Narrative Integration
Wrote and structured branching narrative moments that surface through gameplay, rewarding exploration and enriching world coherence.
