Overview
TYR, named after the Norse God of heroic adventure, is the next step in all terrain and long-distance adventuring. My team was tasked with bringing accessibility and intrigue to the screens on this automotive trailblazer.
This is the largest team I've worked on, with required consistent collaboration between teams of Industrial Designers, Software Engineers, Graphic Artists, and Social Media & Marketing teams.
I led the UI Design team for this project, and over the course of a 12-Week campaign, working with React, ProtoPie, and AfterEffects, we developed a full design system for the DCU and Entertainment Interfaces.
Design Process
Discovery
Audited existing automotive UI patterns across Tesla, Rivian, and Lucid to identify opportunities for differentiation in the adventure vehicle segment.
Architecture
Designed a dual-mode interface system: precision driving mode and exploration mode — each with distinct visual states and interaction patterns.
Design System
Built a comprehensive token-based design system in Figma with 200+ components, covering the DCU and full Entertainment Interface.
Prototype
Delivered interactive ProtoPie prototypes with physics-based animations and AfterEffects motion specs for hand-off to engineering teams.
